About The Grand Marais Art Colony

A haven for artists on Minnesota's North Shore since 1947

The Grand Marais Art Colony is a non-profit arts organization offering creative workshops across a wide variety of mediums. From one-night to five-day to multi-week sessions, we host classes that are great for seasoned artists and beginners alike. See our upcoming classes HERE.

The Art Colony also hosts regional and national artists through our Artist-in-Residence programs. Ranging from 1-4 weeks, artists can take the time that they need to focus on their practice in one of our five studios. Find more info on our Artist-in-residence programs HERE.

Each July the Grand Marais Art Colony presents the Grand Marais Arts Festival. Taking place over the weekend after the 4th of July, this juried arts festival brings 60 regional artists to downtown Grand Marais for a weekend of high-quality art and fun.
